The word "Historicism" has more than one meaning in the present environment. In one sense it refers to a small journal which appeared four times a year from 1985 through 1991 as an extension of my M.A. thesis research on Daniel 11 ("An Historicist Perspective on Daniel 11," Andrews University, 1994). In another sense it refers to the present web site, one goal of which is to publish all of the original print articles on the web. (We're not there yet.) In a third sense the word refers to a school of thought - a frame of reference for approaching the prophecies of the Bible, and especially here the prophecies of Daniel.
As I look back on a lifetime of study, the conviction has only deepened over time that the message Seventh-day Adventists bear concerning the great prophecies of the Old and New Testaments is indeed God's truth. Are there details that invite study and clarification? Certainly. That's why I wrote an M.A. thesis on Dan 11 back in 1984 and why the present web site exists today. But the historicist framework on which the church bases its message was a solid framework then and it's a solid framework now. Not one page of Scripture has changed in the meantime. As you browse the pages of this web site let me share some of the reasons why I feel so strongly that this is so.
